“Can I go home now? My family’s waiting for me for dinner.”
No, they weren’t waiting for you — she was.
“Sorry, I can’t wait for you. I have to rush back home.”
No, you weren’t rushing — you wanted to send her back home.
“Nothing’s going on between us, don’t worry.”
No, there was something going on — you were just afraid of getting caught.
You see, here’s the thing.
When I ask, it doesn’t mean that I am actually clueless about things. It actually means that I know what’s happening.
I just want to know how you’d respond.
I just want to know, how honest you’d be with me.
I just want to know, if I can still trust the words you spout to me.
But no, all that came out of your mouth were lies,
and more lies.
And I’m exhausted. I don’t even know how to act and react around you anymore. I don’t even feel hurt at this point, I’m disappointed but — not surprised. Because, it’s you. I’m ending this disappointment all on my own and, I bet you wouldn’t even care once you get together with her.
But trust me when I say this, things won’t last between the two of you.
Because you might not know this — but you are a replacement of someone who meant the world to her, you’re just someone who were at the wrong place but the right time, for her to fill the void in her heart.
And if you did know about this, I really just wonder; how idiotic can you get?
